Trying out 33" tires for looks and handling!

Thanks many times over to Jay, who let me try these out the day he came over to swap all his fluids.

I cannot beleive how well mannered the 33's were, I would actually say that the Jeep handled better than with the 31's, maybe only because the track was so much wider.

1.75" backspacing (3.75" or 4" vs 5.5"
1" wider rims (10" vs 8")*
1" 2" wider tread*
3.75" total (for each side)
7.5 total track(measured from outside tread to outside tread)
*Note: only half of the width is counted in the track increase, as the center only moves out half the width increase.

(this is on 10 inch rims, I might go with 8" and be happy with 5.5" wider track, and tires that can tuck up under the fenders better.

Because I can get the Michelin LTX's in 33x12.5R-15 (they actually cost more than 35"BFG AT's), I think I am going to go with them. I will mount them on my stock rims with quality wheel spacers, but the black steel rims don't look bad at all, and would look even better with a yellow pinstripe instead of the blue and red ones...
